A collection of sculptures inspired by the ocean dwelling Radiolaria and Diatoms.
These sculptures are displayed in Cabinets of curiosities - as artefacts from an alternative evolution.
I was first introduced to these intricate forms by the amazing drawings by Ernst Haeckel. These single celled organisms produce intricate mineral skeletons, usually made of silica. When Radiolaria die, the skeleton becomes part of ocean sediment, preserved as a microfossil.
Each is 3D printed porcelain, designed, printed and fired.
